Agnes Bingawaho - Rwanda
Dr. Agnes Binagwaho is the Executive Secretary of Rwanda's National Commission to Fight AIDS.

She is also a member of the Expert Panel of the Country Coordinating Mechanism in Rwanda for the Global Fund, the National Steering Committee on Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission, and the Technical Advisory Group for HIV/AIDS in the Ministry of Health.

Dr. Binagwaho is a pediatrician specializing in Emergency Pediatrics and the treatment of HIV/AIDS in children and adults, practicing part-time in Kigali.

She has presented at international conferences and published on the subject of pediatric HIV/AIDS and mother-to-child transmission.

In Rwanda has participated in developing standards of care for the treatment of HIV/AIDS.

Dr. Binagwaho, a Rwandan citizen, obtained her medical training in Belgium and France

Brian Brink - South Africa
Senior Vice President: Health at Anglo American plc, the largest listed company in South Africa.

He is a Global Fund Board member. He advises Group companies on the funding and delivery of health care benefits as well as on occupational health and community health issues. Dr. Brink has been with Anglo American for 20 years, and has been actively involved in HIV/AIDS issues since the mid-1980s.

He is responsible for guiding Anglo American's response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic-among other achievements. The company currently has the largest employer-sponsored AIDS treatment program in the world, with over 2,000 employees receiving free antiretroviral therapy.

Dr. Brink is actively involved in addressing the particular challenge the HIV/AIDS epidemic poses to business in Southern Africa and internationally. Dr. Brink is also involved in various national initiatives to enhance the role of the private sector in broadening access to sustainable, quality healthcare for all the citizens of South Africa.

He advises the Nelson Mandela Foundation on the strategic response to HIV/AIDS in South Africa.

He is also a director of Discovery Health.

Barbara Bulc

Former Senior Advisor to the Bill Clinton AIDS Foundation responsible for Drug Procurement Consortium. 15yrs experience in pharmaceutical industry.

Degrees in Chemistry and management from Slovenia and Columbia Universities.

Pierre Sane Senegal
In May 2001, Mr. Pierre Sane was appointed Sous-Directeur general for social and human sciences with UNESCO, Paris.

From October 1992 to April 2001, Mr. Pierre Sane occupied the post of Secretary general of Amnesty International (AI).

In his capacity as Secretary General of Amnesty International, Mr. Sane went in many countries to sensitize the authorities with the questions of the human rights and to express the solidarity of AI with regard to the victims of violations of the human rights and ONG. These missions brought it in various countries, in particular: in Israel, in the occupied Territories/Palestinian Authority, in South Africa, in Peru, in Colombia, in the United States of America, in Mexico, in Kenya, in Rwanda, in Morocco, in Republic of Korea, in Spain, in Ivory Coast and in Mali.

In 1998, Mr. Sane conducted the world campaign of AI marking the 50e birthday of the universal Declaration of the human rights by drawing the world attention to the threats which weigh on the defenders of the human rights.

Under its direction, Amnesty International was reorganized considerably. It introduced there strategic planning, the evaluation, the internal audit, the centralized collection of funds and the reaction to crises.

The university training of Mr. Sane includes/understands doctoral studies in political science at the Carleton University of Ottawa (Canada), a control of sciences in public administration and political governmental of London School of Economics; he is an approved accountant and holds a control of management of businesses (MBA) of the Higher School of Trade of Bordeaux (Bordeaux Ecole of Management, France).

Paul Zeitz
Global AIDS Alliance Co-founder and Public health specialist with over 14 years of experience in developing nations, including Bolivia, Guatemala, India, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Uganda, and Zambia.

He has designed and implemented large-scale programs in HIV/AIDS, child survival, reproductive health, health systems development, and multi-sectoral support for orphaned and vulnerable children.

Medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed an M.P.H. and a preventive medicine residency at Johns Hopkins University.

Prof. Josh Ruxin- USA
Assistant Clinical Professor of Public Health at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health. Director of the Access Project for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and Macrohealth at the Center for Global Health and Economic Development.

He is implementing a project with the World Health Organization to apply the findings of the Commission on Macroeconomics and Health in eighteen developing countries. Previously, Dr. Ruxin worked at Harvard University where he directed the Access Project for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Before joining Harvard, Dr. Ruxin was Vice President and co-founder of on the FRONTIER, a strategy consulting firm providing advisory services to businesses in developing countries. Master of Public Health from Columbia University, and a PhD in History from the University of London where he was a Marshall Scholar.

Herbert Wigwe- Nigeria
Herbert Wigwe is a Deputy Managing Director of Access Bank Nigeria Plc.

Mr. Herbert Wigwe holds a B.Sc. Degree in Accountancy from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and a Masters Degree in Banking and International Finance from the University College of North Wales. An Alumnus of Harvard Business School, he holds another Masters Degree in Financial Economics from the University of London. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.

Herbert had a 2-year professional accountancy experience at Coopers and Lybrand Associates, an international firm of Chartered Accountants prior to his banking career.

He spent over 10 years at Guaranty Trust Bank where he managed several portfolios including Financial Institutions, Local Corporate and Multinationals.

He left Guaranty Trust as an Executive Director

His experience covers Corporate/Institutional Banking, Commercial Banking and Product Development.

Herbert has led some of the industry's significant syndication arrangements including the offshore funding arrangement of over $350 million for LNG's Train III project.

He is an ardent reader of motivational and management books.

Yassine Fall - Senegal
Economist Current Position:UNIFEM Senior Economic Advisor on secondment to the UN Millennium Project as Senior Policy Advisor on Gender Equality.

  • Executive Director Association of African Women for Research and Development.

  • Previous consultant to the Netherlands Cooperation agency, CIDA Canada, UNDP, UNIFEM, FAO, WFP, UNHCR UNESCO and ILO on issues such as gender and development, macroeconomic reforms, international trade, poverty reduction strategies.

    She is the author of several publications in French and English.
