We are a Pan-African
organization which works to mobilize strategic political and financial
support for the Global Fund and fight against AIDS, TB and Malaria through
advocacy, documentation and Fund Raising.
The Global Fund Round 8
proposal process has begun and our organization is part of a partnership to
integrate Sexual and Reproductive Health into the HIV proposals of 10
African Countries. This project aims to increase funding of reproductive
health and HIV/AIDS integrated proposals by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS,
Tuberculosis and Malaria in its Round 8 grant cycle, launched March 1, 2008.
As a part of this project, Friends Africa in conjunction with the
International Planned Parenthood Federation, will be providing technical
assistance to Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon Ghana, Madagascar, Mozambique,
Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Zambia to enable them develop winning
proposals for Round 8 Call for Proposals which has a deadline of
July 1st 2008.
At this stage, we are
looking for experienced and qualified consultants to submit their CV for
consideration with Friends Africa. Consultancies will range from 5 to 30
days of work.
The ideal candidate must
have knowledge and experience in some of the following areas:
1. Grant
Writing
2. Global Fund Grant Process
3. Health or Medical
background
4. Necessary Financial Experience where necessary - E.g
Budgeting and Forecasting
5. Experience in Sexual and Reproductive
Health Project Design/Planning/ Programming or Project oversight
6. African in-country experience
7. Working knowledge of English
(for Anglophone) and French (for Francophone)
