“Friends Africa fills an important niche by supporting the work of the Global Fund in Africa. By taking the lead to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in their own countries, Friends Africa will help to engage all relevant actors in the fight against these diseases. The efforts of civil society organizations, such as Friends Africa, are critical if African countries are to achieve the millennium Development Goals.” - Kofi Annan, Former Secretary General of the United Nation from 1997 to 2007
