The Private Sector Summit - a special event organised by Friends of the Global Fund Africa and hosted by the Government of Rwanda. The summit will take place at Serena Hotel on November 6th, 2010.

This high-level meeting will be graced by the President of Rwanda, His Excellency Paul Kagame and will provide an opportunity for African private sector companies to partner with the Global Fund in the fight against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in Africa.

The Private Sector Summit is key to the replenishment efforts of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, as the year 2010 has been set aside to drive the replenishment of the fund.

Why the Global Fund?
The Global Fund is the largest funder in the fight against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. The Global Fund is the only health financing mechanism that is results-based requiring grantee to judiciously utilize funds and will cancel grants that are mismanaged assuring transparency and accountability. Moreover, there have been significant gains since its creation and approximately 60% of its funds are given to sub-Saharan Africa. Despite these contributions, there is still a large gap in the funding required to fight the three diseases in Africa.

Registration is required to attend the Summit.

Accommodation and Travel Logistics will be covered by the participant
